There is a new Stampin’ Up! Poppy Suite coming in the new year and I am sooooo excited! In the meantime, I am enjoying a retired set that has been much loved.
I have the Pleasant Poppies set which is a simple field of blooms with long graceful lines. You can just imagine these beautiful flowers swaying in the spring breezes.
I am partial to poppies. They are the national flower for my home state. Also known as “copa de oro”, or “cup of gold”, the Eschscholzia Californica species is native to California and Mexico.
I enjoy pairing retro stamp sets with new colors and bling. The combination of the new Stitched Rectangles Dies along with this C. S. Lewis quote on vellum with eyelet is wonderful, I think.
Stampin’ Up! materials used: Very Vanilla Thick cardstock cut to 8 1/2” x 5 5/8” and scored at 4 1/4”: Poppy Parade cut to 5 1/4” x 3 3/8” with Stitched Rectangles dies, Very Vanilla cut to 4 3/4” x 3 1/2” also using Stitched Recatangles, Poppy Parade ink, Pleasant Poppies stamp set, Summer Solstice stamp set, and Vellum cut to 4 3/4” x 1”.
Looking to the future and available to purchase in January 2020, the Peaceful Poppies Suite is simply beautiful. A bundle of one stamp set plus companion dies called Painted Poppies will be offered for those of us who are frugal.
And for those who want to splurge, the Peaceful Poppies Suite will include two stamp sets with two sets of coordinating dies, along with Designer Series Paper, ribbon, accent elements, and sequins. This is what Stampin’ Up! does so well, which is to provide the coordination of images, sentiments, color schemes, and all the bling to make your projects pop.
Until then, we fondly remember the past. Do you have a beloved stamp set or a sentiment that speaks to your heart? Please leave a comment. I so love hearing your thoughts.
