Land of the Free

Monday, November 11th is Veteran’s Day.  We set aside this day to honor those who have served or are serving in American military branches.  Formerly known as Armistice Day, this holiday was originally established as a day of remembrance to acknowledge the end of World War I.

This card features an older stamp I kept because it is so simple, yet patriotically heartwarming.  I love it.  I have so many stamps I just can’t part with because their messages or images are wonderful.   They speak to me.

The background paper is current DSP from the Come Sail Away Suite, along with the Real Red and Night of Navy inks, and Whisper White Thick cardstock, which are all available in the current Stampin’ Up! annual catalog.

I am also loving the Stitched Rectangles Dies.  I find I am using them for almost every card I make.  These can also be found in the 2019-2020 Stampin’ Up! Catalog.  Highly recommended.

My son is currently serving in the United States Marine Corps.  Do you have someone you would like to honor and thank this Veteran’s Day?

  1. You said it was an older stamp you used, was it from stamp in up, could you share the name of the stamp. I have a son and daughter in law serving in the US Army and I am always looking for patriotic cards to send them. Thanks

  2. It is sort of sad that we have lost the patriotic stamps and I realize, we are part of an international company now, I feel it would be great to develop a stamp indicative to each country in which stampin up has a market. I am older, therefore, feel more driven to be patriotic. I have an older “flag” stamp on a wood block from stampin up that I to use occasionally to mark special holidays.
I appreciate your creation. Thank you for sharing.

  3. I love your card, it moved me . It makes me very sad that much (most?) of our youth are not aware, don’t know the great history nor people that kept our country free and sacrificed their lives to keep America free, and the cost to them personally. Although Stampin Up is an International company now; it was BORN in America and it is Americans that made it the lucrative and successful business that it is, allowing it to expand to other countries. It should ALWAYS carry PATRIOTIC stamps and supplies. Thank you for this honoring card to the soldiers past and present that love and protect America and Americans!
